About Ramp

About Ramp

We're a small consultancy with a long track record. We've built real products, worked with some of the biggest names in pharma and tech, and we've been doing this long enough to know what good looks like.

Matt is the technical backbone of Ramp, with unrivalled depth across Veeva delivery, cloud infrastructure and product development. If something needs building properly, Matt is the reason it gets done right.

LinkedIn

Tim and Matt have been building things together for over 25 years.

We met in 2000 at Hard Reality, the digital arm of Leo Burnett, where Tim was doing backend development and Matt was creating Flash applications at a time when that still meant something. We were both there at the start of the web — building things nobody had quite built before, figuring it out as we went.

We spent a couple of years apart, but in 2007 Tim hired Matt into Skinkers — a pioneering desktop notification platform that counted the BBC, Microsoft, American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and UPS among its clients. Skinkers was acquired by IMImobile in 2011, and we both moved on in 2013.

That year we founded Ramp, and started building iDetailAid. The rest is below.

Together we've been through enough product cycles, acquisitions, pivots and late-night deployments to know exactly how the other thinks. That's not something you can fake, and it's not something a larger consultancy can replicate by putting two people in a room together.

Veeva Content Partner — from product to practice.

In 2013 we built iDetailAid — a Veeva-certified content platform designed to help life sciences companies create and manage interactive field content at scale. What started as a response to the industry's shift from print to digital became one of the most widely adopted platforms of its kind, used by five of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies including Gilead, AstraZeneca, Pfizer and BMS.

In 2014 we became one of Veeva's first technical partners, integrating iDetailAid directly with Veeva Vault and helping to shape what good CLM content delivery looked like in the early days of the platform. Over the following years we scaled the product, grew the client base and built a team around it.

In 2018, iDetailAid was acquired by Huron Consulting Group to strengthen the digital capabilities of their Life Sciences division. We left Huron in 2019, reignited Ramp, and continued supporting iDetailAid until we sunset it in 2025. It remains one of the things we're most proud of — not just because of the outcome, but because of what we learned building it.

What we're building now

We've never been a consultancy that just consults. Alongside our client work, we're currently developing Flook — a SaaS platform that helps product-led teams improve user onboarding and in-app engagement through customisable tooltips, tours, banners and more.

It's at an early but promising stage, with a paying customer base and active development underway. It's also a reminder that we stay sharp by continuing to build — not just advise.
