Overview
Healthily is a digital health company whose Smart Symptom Checker helps millions of people understand their symptoms and make informed decisions about their health. With a best-in-class clinical product, Healthily wanted to open their platform to third-party developers, giving partners the ability to integrate the Smart Symptom Checker directly into their own web and mobile applications via a dedicated API. They needed a partner who could advise on the right approach, build the developer hub and deliver everything on time and within budget.
What we did
Platform consultancy
Before writing a line of documentation we reviewed the available developer hub platforms and made a clear recommendation, the right tool for Healthily's needs, their team's capabilities and their long-term maintenance requirements. That kind of upfront consultancy saves significant time and cost down the line.
API documentation
We refactored Healthily's existing OpenAPI specification and built out comprehensive developer documentation, including API reference, integration guides and tutorials. Everything was structured around how third-party developers actually approach a new API, not just what the endpoints do.
Developer sign-up mechanism
We built a mechanism allowing third-party partners to sign up directly on the platform, gaining immediate access to the documentation and resources they needed to begin integration. Removing friction from that first step was critical to driving adoption.
